The Qatar Table Tennis Association announced that the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) has officially chosen the State of Qatar to host the 25th of the Asian Men's and Women's Table Tennis Championships to be held in September 2021, on the sidelines of the ATTU Executive Office meeting, which was held via video conference.

The Executive Office decided to assign the organization of the Asian Table Tennis Championship to the State of Qatar 20 years after it hosted the tournament in 2000, following the withdrawal of China and India from the hosting competition race during the ATTU General Assembly.

The State of Qatar is the first Arab and Gulf country to succeed in winning the honor of hosting the Asian Championship for the second time after the 2000 edition, which confirms the great position that Doha enjoys in organizing such events.

Khalil Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatari and Arab Table Tennis Associations, First Vice President of the ATTU and International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), expressed his happiness for choosing Qatar to host the 25th of the Asian Men's and Women's Table Tennis Championships.

He expressed his hope that the new generation of Qatari table tennis will benefit from this historic hosting and gain experiences by playing with the best players in the game.

Al Mohannadi stressed that Qatar will organize a tournament at the highest international standards due to its world-class facilities, stadiums, and sports halls equipped with the latest technologies. (QNA)
