Qatari Aid Shipment Arrives in Lebanon

The General Authority of Customs (GAC), through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), provided a shipment of aid to the Lebanese Customs as a continuation of the humanitarian response implemented by the State of Qatar in the Lebanese Republic following the Beirut Port explosion disaster.

The aid shipment was received by several diplomats at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic, and Lebanese customs officials.

The signing ceremony for the handover agreement was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al Jaber, the embassy counselor Ali Al Mutawa, First Secretary Ali Al Athba, and Second Secretary Ahmed Al Obaidli. From the Lebanese side, HE Chairman of the Supreme Council of Customs Brigadier Assaad Toufayli, Acting Director-General of Lebanon Customs Raymond El Khoury, and Head of Customs' Studies Department Khalil Al Khoury attended the handover ceremony.

 

HE Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al Jaber reiterated the State of Qatar's standing by Lebanon, the continuation of assisting and the completion of the projects that were announced to alleviate the economic and health crisis and support the Lebanese people to overcome the ordeals facing their country, especially after the Beirut Port explosion disaster.

HE the Ambassador expressed his hope that Lebanon would regain its health and its pioneering position thanks to the will of the Lebanese and the assistance of friendly countries.

HE Brigadier Assaad Toufayli thanked the State of Qatar, represented by QFFD and GAC, stressing that this aid reflects the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and the spirit of cooperation to overcome the most difficult ordeals, especially after the destruction of the customs administration's offices and equipment as a result of the port explosion. He explained that this aid will contribute to supporting and facilitating customs work to improve all its services.
