Qatari aircraft carrying two field hospitals and urgent medical aid arrive in Beirut

As per the directives of His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, an Amiri Air Force aircraft carrying two field hospitals and other medical supplies reached the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.

The aid is meant to help treat the people injured in the explosions that shook the Lebanese capital on Tuesday.

Three more aircraft will also depart on Wednesday to transport aid, which includes two fully-equipped field hospitals with 500 beds each and equipped with respirators and the necessary medical equipment and supplies.

 

In implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to dispatch urgent medical aid to the Lebanese Republic, aircraft belonging to the Qatari Amiri Air Force arrived at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut today, within an airbridge, carrying urgent medical aid and supplies, and two fully equipped 500-bed field hospitals to treat those injured by the Beirut Port explosion.

The aircraft was received by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic Mohammed Hassan Jaber Al-Jaber, HE Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon in the State of Qatar Ambassador Farah Berri, Head of the Airport Security Authority, Brigadier General George Doumit, Commander of the Beirut Air Base Colonel Hassan Barakat, and the staff working at Qatar Embassy in Beirut, as well as a number of ranking Lebanese officers.

A search and rescue team with a high efficiency and extensive experience in the field of searching and rescuing missing persons arrived on one of the aircraft, after coordination between the competent authorities in the State of Qatar and the Lebanese Republic.
