A delegation from the Safety and Security Operations Committee (SSOC) of the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup, headed by Chairman of the Committee HE Maj. General Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ansari, is currently visiting the Federal Republic of Germany to learn about the German experience in securing major sporting tournaments and events.

The delegation met with the high commander of the public security support forces at the Federal Ministry of Interior, Reconstruction and National Security in the Federal Republic of Germany, who was briefed on the measures taken by the various security units in Germany to secure major tournaments and events.

The delegation also learned about the procedures for securing major events, how to deal with football hooligans, the challenges facing major tournaments by some fans, and the procedures for dealing with them.

The delegation also visited the regional headquarters of the Federal Police in Munich, where they were briefed on the functions of the police, which include securing borders and airports, including the procedures used to ensure the movement of fans during major tournaments and matches, as well as reviewing the workflow in the operations room of the German Federal Police headquarters.
