Qatar University College of Pharmacy (QU-CPH) student Dhabya al-Khater has won in a competition in the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) case-based learning competition (CBL).
The Qatari student was among three QU-CPH students at the event.
The others were Esraa Hamdy and Ruba Sulaiman.
Competitors were divided into four groups, with each group comprising four members from the different EMRO regions.
A diabetes case was distributed among the groups, and a period of one week was given for solving the case.
On the day of the event QU-CPH PharmD student Sara Thiab was the guest speaker, and then all groups had the opportunity to discuss and present their management plan for the case.
Al-Khater was in the winning team.
QU-CPH dean Dr Mohamed Diab said: “Student competitions in general create a strong environment for students to enhance their skills and competencies that will make them successful people in their future workplace.”
Al-Khater said it was a nice experience and a great pleasure to work in collaboration with different students from multiple nationalities and different cultures.
