Qatar’s triathlon team has made an achievement by winning gold and silver medals in the 7th Arab Triathlon Championship and the African Cup race, which came to an end on Saturday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the attendance of around 400 competing athletes.
The Arab championship races included swimming, cycling, and running competitions. Qatar’s sports team was represented by Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi, Fahd Ahmed Al Mohammed, and Abdul Aziz Al Jaber, led by coach Mohsen Erhaili.
Fahd Ahmed Al Mohammed starred in the Arab (30-34) age group and was crowned with a well-deserved gold medal after winning first place in the competition, by reaching a milestone of a record time of 1:18:13.
In the Arab 35 - 39 age group competitions, Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi secured a silver medal after an amazing performance in the swimming, cycling, and running competitions. Kuwaiti Abdullah Al Rifai won the gold medal in the event.
