Qatar's Ambassador to Nepal Confirms Distinguished Relations

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal Yousuf Mohamed Al Hail affirmed the distinction of bilateral relations between Qatar and Nepal, describing them as very good.

In an interview with Nepal Press, His Excellency pointed out that there is close coordination between the two countries in international forums, and said that the agriculture and food security agreement between the two countries contributes to improving bilateral trade. He pointed to the existence of memoranda of understanding between the two countries in the security sector, exemption from visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports, avoiding double taxation, football, and chambers of commerce.

He added that Qatar looks forward to more bilateral agreements, noting the existence of an understanding between the two countries to update the agreement for the employment of Nepalese workforce, and the existence of a joint committee from the two ministries of labor in the two countries, pointing to the State of Qatar's updating of its labor law, canceling the sponsorship system and applying the minimum wage system.

HE the Ambassador indicated that Qatar's preparations to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup are proceeding as planned, expressing optimism that the COVID-19 pandemic will not have an impact on the tournament, and that the current medical and scientific efforts in terms of vaccines, medicines and people's awareness will have a positive impact.

 

HE Ambassador Al Hail stressed the importance of exchanging high-level visits in strengthening relations between the two countries and peoples.

On the lessons of the blockade of Qatar, His Excellency said that the State of Qatar has always encouraged dialogue and a solution between the brotherly Gulf states.

He stressed that relations between the Gulf states are of very great importance to the State of Qatar, adding, Qatar belongs to the region and the peoples of the six countries are a large family, so cooperation relations and open borders are very important.
