Qatar's Mubaraka Al Naimi Exits Qatar Total Open 2021

Qatari tennis player Mubaraka Al Naimi exited the preliminary of the Qatar Total Open 2021 which will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex until Saturday, with the participation of four of the world's top-ten.

Al Naimi's exit came after losing to Japan's Ena Shibahara in two sets (0-6, 1-6) in the match that took place today in the preliminary of the tournament, which saw four female players qualify for the main rounds.

Al Naimi said her loss in the preliminary round was a result of not participating in tennis competitions during the past year, a matter which affected her preparation for the tournament this year.

In a press statement, Al Naimi said that she was very happy to participate in the tournament that brings a group of the most prominent players in the world and contributes to gaining more experiences and different ways of playing as well as meeting with world champions.

The Qatari player explained that she was aspiring to qualify for the main rounds of the tournament this year but the Coronavirus pandemic prevented her from preparing perfectly, especially since she did not participate in any tournament and this was her first match after nearly a year. (QNA)
