Qatar's Q4 2020 Nominal GDP Grows 7.4% QoQ

The quarterly GDP at current prices for Q4 of 2020 in Qatar grew 7.4 percent on a quarterly basis, but fell 14.4 percent on annual basis, data from the Planning and Statistics Authority showed Thursday.
The report from the Planning and Statistics Authority said that quarterly GDP at current prices was estimated at QR 136.73 billion, compared to QR 127.31 billion in Q3 of 2020 and QR 159.65 billion in QR of 2019. Real GDP for the quarter was GDP QR 163.00 billion, compared to QR 169.64 billion in Q4 of 2019 and QR 163.82 billion in Q3 of 2019. This represents a decline of 3.9 percent and 0.5 percent respectively.
The nominal Gross Value Added (GVA) estimate of Mining and Quarrying activities was estimated in the report at QR 38.99 billion in Q4 of 2020 at current prices. This represented a decrease of 28.9% on an annual basis, but it was a 15.7 percent growth on a quarterly basis. Real GVA of these activities was estimated at QR 60.32 billion in Q4 2020, showing a decrease of 3.3% compared
 
to the estimate of Q4 2019 (QR 62.40 billion). Compared to Q3 of 2020, it showed a decrease of 4.3 percent.
As for the non-mining and Quarrying activities, nominal GVA was estimated at QR 97.74 billion in Q4 2020,showing a decrease of 6.8% over the estimate of Q4 2019 (QR 104.84 billion). On a quarterly basis, the figure represented a 4.4 percent increase. Real GVA of non-mining and quarrying activities was estimated at QR 102.69 billion in Q4 2020, which showed a decrease of 4.2% over the estimate of the corresponding quarter in 2019.
