Qatar Charity (QC) has announced the names of those winners who contested in the youth volunteer initiatives in the “Initiatives Challenge” programme launched during the holy month of Ramadan.
QC declared that ‘Qatar Generations’, ‘Future Compass’, and ‘O Type’ initiatives as the first, second, and third winners, respectively, of the Ramadan programme.
The winners of this initiative programme were remotely given awards and honoured with certificates of appreciation. Other participants in this initiative were also recognised for their contribution.
Addressing the virtual closing ceremony, Faisal Rashid al-Fahida, the QC chief executive’s assistant for the programme and community development sector, said that QC is eager to utilise the efforts of people who are creative, sponsor youth programmes, activities and initiatives, and also improve humanitarian and charitable work to donate to the advancement of society that goes in line with the strategic plan consistent with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Making note on the vital role played by QC as it promotes ambitious volunteer initiatives and the culture of volunteering, Al Fahida said: "Qatar Charity always seeks to engage all in its humanitarian and development work, especially in the field of awareness, volunteering, and support for charitable projects for the benefit of society,” Al Fahida said,
Jassim Mohamed al-Emadi, the director of the QC Programmes and Community Development Department, mentioned that seven youth volunteer initiatives took part in the “Initiatives Challenge” programme this year to promote and market QC’s humanitarian and societal projects innovatively and creatively.
One of the judges of the programme, Ahmed Abdulla highlighted that the young minds are the hope for the future, so their “times, energies, and creativities must be utilised for the benefit of society”.
In a statement, QC said that the ‘Initiatives Challenge’ programme seeks to promote the significance of playing humanitarian roles, and the impact of humanitarian work on the lives of beneficiaries, along with permitting people to volunteer in humanitarian activities.
