QC Opens Taiba Education City for Orphan Children in Sudan

Qatar Charity (QC) opened the Taiba Education City in Omdurman in Sudan. The complex, which is the largest of its kind in Sudan, provides inclusive services for orphaned children.
The 9,000-sqm Taiba Education City is a model project of Qatar Charity in Sudan, and consists of several facilities, such as a foundation school with 9 classrooms and a computer lab; and a secondary school with four classrooms, a laboratory, a library and a computer lab; in addition to offices, and a health center which will provide medical services for students and poor residents from surrounding villages. The city also has various administrative facilities, dining and activities halls, sports facilities and a dormitory for 500 orphans.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, HE Sudan's Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet thanked the State of Qatar for continuously supporting the Sudanese people.
HE the Minister noted that Qatar Charitys educational and health projects and sponsorship programs implemented worldwide, hailing the major projects implemented within the framework of the Doha Peace Agreement.
HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi said that the opening of the Taiba Education City is the continuation of the humanitarian and charitable works, service and development projects implemented by the State of Qatar in the various states of Sudan, in cooperation with the public and private sectors.
He noted that among these works, services, and projects are those implemented by Qatar Charity across Sudan in the fields of education, health, water, and sponsorship, in addition to building model villages within Qatar's initiative for the development of Darfur.
HE Ambassador Al Kubaisi emphasized that these humanitarian and charitable projects complement the official Qatari efforts to strengthen and develop relations between the two countries, and are consistent with the humanitarian roles played by the State of Qatar to contribute to the development regionally and internationally.
CEOs assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity Nawaf Abdullah Al Hammadi said that the Taiba Education City provides inclusive care for 500 orphans who receive educational, health care, cultural, developmental and sports services. He added that this multi-service city also benefits the surrounding community the neighboring villages and towns in the fields of health, water, and education.
Al Hammadi indicated that the Taiba Education City is a model project of Qatar Charity in Sudan.
For his part, Faisal bin Rashid Al Fahida, CEOs assistant for the Programs and Community Development sector at Qatar Charity, and the representative of the donor, said: "This is an excellent experience by all educational and humanitarian standards, and we hope that it would provide inclusive care for orphans, according to the highest standards of quality."
He hoped the Taiba Education City would be an inspiring academic and educational model.
He stated that since the opening of Qatar Charitys office in Sudan, hundreds of wells have been drilled, and hundreds of schools, mosques, hospitals and health centers have been built. (QNA)
