Opportunity for those passionate and zealous in the art world arises as Qatar Museums (QM) launches an event to visit, explore and take part in a number of activities during the display of the exhibition.
The exhibition will be held on March 6 at the Doha Fire Station, then ‘Acts of listening from Future Generations’ and the event welcomes people to submerge their minds “into the world of sound in an experience which focuses on sonic reflections promoted by the artists and the environment.”
The show will be curated by David Suarez Mira, who took part in the Fire Station’s 2020 International Curator in Residence programme. As a journalist, museum advisor, and independent curator, his projects focus on developing a dynamic relationship between the audience and artists in multiple transmedia and community-based formats.

The works of 10 artists like Sonic Jeel, Mubarak al-Thani, Alya al-Khalifa, Asma Derouiche, Guillaume Rouseré, Mariam Rafehi, Robin Pender, Sebastián Betancur, Ilija Aritonovic and Ivan Aleksic will be exhinited at the show at Gallery 3 and 4.
The Doha Fire Station also takes visitors to its Garage Gallery for another unique exhibition, titled “Grey Times”, featuring the works of artists who participated in the fifth edition of its annual Artist in Residence Programme (AIR5).
Curated by Dr Bahaa Abudaya and Saida Ali al-Khulaifi, the exhibition underscores the artists’ curiosity as they sought to answer the questions, ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Who are they?’ It will run until July 24 and it is open between 9am and 7pm from Saturday to Thursdays, and between 1.30pm and 7pm on Fridays.
Grey Times points out an installation titled “Fragmented Realities”, which “takes on our dreams – a source of inspiration that cannot be controlled. Each experience explored in this work is individually unique but universal in its element.”
March 6 will witness the first activity held by QM’s Marchitecture event, an annual month held in collaboration with The Architects’ Hub Qatar that invites Culture Pass members to explore Qatar’s striking architecture through tours and workshops.
Marchitecture’s Face-to-Face Design Tour will explore antiquity in architecture – a personal museum of treasures – led by Dr Mousallam Sakka Amini, an architect and professor in Islamic architecture.
Professor Amini is the owner of a vast collection of unique antiques, each with a story to tell and includes rare items ranging from books, collector items, interior décor accessories, and landscape treasures, among others.
The forthcoming activities, especially for QM’s Culture Pass members, will include a Virtual Hub Talk on Reinventing Cities on March 10 at 7pm, Face-to-Face Design Tour to explore the Alwadi Hotel, Doha McGallery Hotel Collection at Downtown Msheireb on March 15 at 3pm, Face-to-Face Tour of W Doha Hotel & Residences at on March 16 at 10, Virtual Hub Talk on the process of realising a project on March 17 at 7pm, Face-to-Face Design Tour of Msheireb Downtown Doha on March 27 at 5.30am, and Face-to-Face Design Tour on the Architecture of Taste at Port Arabia, Tower 4, The Pearl on March 30 at 4 pm.
