QRCS Signs Cooperation Agreement with JRCS, IFRC

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has entered into a tripartite agreement with Jordan Red Crescent Society (JRCS) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), in order to work together in the fight against COVID-19 in Jordan.

The agreement was signed by HE QRCS Secretary-General Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi and HE President of JRCS Dr. Mohamed Motlak Al Hadid.

The signing ceremony was attended by a high-profile delegation from QRCS, currently in an official visit to Jordan. It comprises Secretary-General Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Head of International Relations and International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Dr. Fawzi Oussedik, and IHL Coordinator Zahra Adnan Lafi.

 

In his remarks, President of JRCS Dr. Mohamed Motlak Al Hadid, highlighted the close cooperation with, and constant support from, QRCS through its humanitarian operations in Jordan.

Director of the IFRC Office in Amman, Jordan Dr. Moftah Tuwailib, praised the effective joint work between QRCS, international relief organizations, organizations and local bodies.

Following the signing ceremony, there was a meeting of the Coordinative Committee on Auxiliary Role of National Societies. Dr. Oussedik delivered a speech to the members of the committee, in which he emphasized the importance of dialogue with different organizations and concerted efforts to upgrade the National Societies auxiliary role to government bodies, especially at time of emergencies.

The session was attended by Dr. Mohamed Tarawneh, Judge, Head of the Jordanian Committee for IHL Maamoun Tarawneh, and Dr. Omar Saleh Al-Akour, from School of Law, the University of Jordan (UJ).
