QU and QC signs MoU for development and humanitarian work

Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Charity (QC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint co-operation in the fields of development and humanitarian work.
The President of QU Dr Hassan al-Derham, and the CEO of QC Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari signed the MoU for this joint initiative.
The MoU stressed on the co-operation and methods of collaboration between the two entities, particularly in the fields of development and humanitarian work and utilization of co-operation in other possible fields of mutual interest for both parties.
The two parties affirmed their endeavor, through signing this agreement, to achieve the following objectives such as sharing insights and education students of Qatar University about Qatar Charity’s work, preparing the prospective students to volunteer, promoting the values of solidarity and social work among university students, and supporting students.
 
Conducting special events to serve the common goals of both parties, sharing information and experiences, jointly attending conferences and events related to the areas of the agreement.
During the occasion of the signing of MoU Dr Hassan al-Derham, Qatar University President said: “The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of Qatar University's constant endeavor to co-operate with all institutions interested in supporting the university's march towards betterment of the Qatari community. This MoU seeks to organize and develop distinguished relation between Qatar University and Qatar Charity in many areas.”
Youssef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, CEO of QC said that, “This agreement will play a fundamental role in developing and enhancing community participation towards Qatar National Vision 2030. This agreement encourages students to work as volunteer for their community.”
He also mentioned that this agreement will contribute on spreading awareness about the culture of volunteering for humanitarian work. Students will be able to take part and engage themselves in charitable initiatives, developing their expertise and capabilities in this respective sector.
