Qatar University (QU) and the General Tax Authority (GTA) signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) for partnering in similar areas of interest of both the organisations. The memorandum was signed by QU’s president Dr. Hassan Al Derham and GTA’s chairman Ahmed bin Issa Al Mohannadi.
The MoU aims to increase cooperation between the two parties to exchange information and expertise to raise efficiency following comprehensive quality standards.
By signing this deal, QU and GTA has affirmed to achieve the objectives, which includes exchanging expertise and enhancing educational programmes that serve both parties, training and building experiences among employees of the two institutions, field training for students, organising conferences and workshops.
It also covers other activities that work on improving, enhancing, knowledge, and tax awareness, conducting studies, and applying research that achieves the two parties’ goals.
Speaking on the signing of this memorandum Al Derham said, “The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of Qatar University’s constant endeavour to cooperate with all institutions interested in supporting the university’s march towards the betterment of the Qatari community. This is a very important partnership between the two institutions with common goals.”
He also added that Qatar University is eager to support and reinforce ties with the General Tax Authority to establish cooperation in numerous areas related to the scientific, administrative, technical, and research fields.
Meanwhile, Al Mohannadi lauded the QU’s role in providing the Qatari labour market by graduating scientifically and practically qualified students with all the theoretical and practical experiences the market needs.
