Ras Bufontas Free Zone Receive GSAS Sustainability Certification

Ras Bufontas free zone, overseen by Qatar Free Zones Authority, received the three-star certification for design and construction from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS).
The certification is provided by Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD), during a ceremony held at the Business Innovation Complex in Ras Bufontas.
Ras Bufontas is located near the airport, and along with Umm Al Houl, is one of two free zones supervised by the Qatar Free Zones Authority.
Qatar free zones offers a number of benefits to local and international companies that aid in their growth. These incentives include easy access to Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Hamad Port, to ensure supply chains are uninterrupted.
CEO of Zones Development at Qatar Free Zones Authority Ali Al Khalifa thanked GORD for the certification, saying it reflects the authority's commitment to the highest sustainability standards in the field of construction. He added that the certification also confirms the authority's commitment to realizing the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
For his part, Chairman of GORD Dr. Yousef Al Horr said that the certification is something to be celebrated as it reflects the two organizations' commitment to sustainable growth. He added that Qatar Free Zones Authority provides commercial services that enhances economic development in the State of Qatar, without compromising environmental sustainability. (QNA)
