Recently, a video of the Qatari flag being raised at the Qatar Embassy in Riyadh surfaced on social media. 

In what is considered as the opening of a new page between brothers, tweeters are positive that raising the Qatari flag inside the embassy building of the State of Qatar would be a crucial point in the reconciliation between the nations. 

This comes days after the end of the rift between the nations. 

A few days ago, the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be reopening its embassy in Qatar “in days”, and that it is only a matter of logistics – indicating that full diplomatic relations will be resumed. 

In the year 2017, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the UAE had severed all diplomatic and trade relations with Qatar. They had imposed a sea, land and air blockade on Qatar, accusing the nation of supporting and funding terrorism. Qatar had denied all allegations.
