This unique football for development methodology is based on using the power of sport to inspire and empower youth virtually bringing together young people to promote football for ‘connectedness’.
The second Generation Amazing Youth Festivals kicks off virtually tomorrow and invites youth between the ages of 16-24 to sign up for the three-day #GAFestival2020!
Generation Amazing (GA) is a Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s (SC) human and social legacy programme initiated during Qatar’s successful bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in 2010.
This unique football for development methodology is based on using the power of sport and in particularly football to inspire and empower youth.
This Generation Amazing Festival 2020 will virtually bring together young people to promote football for good under the theme of ‘connectedness’.
Young football fans will have a unique opportunity to engage interesting conversations around football for development though a variety of workshops run by GA and partners.
The GA festival will always be an inclusive platform that aims to inspire the next generation of youth and introduce them to ways in which they can positively contribute to social change through sport in their communities.
Generation Amazing uses a football for development approach – a type of football training on and off the pitch. Through the beautiful game, it teaches principles like gender equality and inclusivity, and life skills like communication, organization, teamwork and leadership.
Football instantly engages people and helps them to remember the lessons taught. For example, mixed-gender matches reinforce the importance of gender equality and inclusion.
