SIGA Web Summit on Female Leadership in Sport Concluded

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) Web Summit on Female Leadership in Sport concluded Wednesday. The three-day event coincided with the celebration of International Women's Day.

Over the course of the three days, nearly 25 keynote speeches were delivered and discussion and dialogue sessions were held that contributed to shaping a new reality for women's leadership in the field of sports. In the sessions, personalities from various civil society organizations, SIGA founders and business institutions around the world contributed to discussions, led by Master Card, the founding partner in Sega.

A statement issued after the summit ends said that the event witnessed tremendous interaction and intense follow-ups that were monitored through social media, while more than 90 international organizations and nearly 70 speakers and participants enriched the summit sessions that placed women leadership in sport at the forefront of the global scene.

The first day of the summit witnessed opening speeches by representatives from the United Nations, the European Union Commission, FIFA and representatives of civil society organizations, as well as a range of rich discussion sessions on the second day, while the summit concluded on the third with four sessions.

The SIGA Web Summit on Female Leadership in Sport is a flagship thought leadership event designed to drive greater equality and opportunities for women in sport, as advocated by the SIGA Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport.
