The sun will be exactly vertical on the earth's equator on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 9:58 Pm Universal Time (UT), moreover the length of the day and the night will be approximately equal overall world countries including Qatar; because the Vernal Equinox phenomenon will be occurring on Wednesday. This phenomenon is important for all world residences; because the Vernal equinox and all four astronomical seasons are an indicator for climatic changes, also on this day we can observe the exact positions of the sunrise and the sunset on all world countries over eastern and western horizons respectively. 

Dr. Beshir Marzouk Astronomer expert at QCH said, on Wednesday, the length of the day and the length of the night will be approximately equal over Southern and northern hemisphere including Qatar country, where the length of the day over Qatar country will be 12 hours and 7 minutes while the length of Qatar's night will be 11 hours and 53 minutes; where sunrise time over Qatar sky on Sunday will be at 5:39 Am, while sunset time on Qatar sky will be at 5:46 Pm Doha local time.

There are two reasons for Vernal equinox phenomenon and all four astronomical seasons phenomena occur: firstly, because of Earth's rotation on its orbit around the sun every 365.25 days approximately (length of year), secondly, the Earth's axis tilting over its orbit plane by 23.5 degrees.

As said, During astronomical Vernal equinox, the sun will be exactly vertical on the earth's equator; then after the Vernal equinox day (Wednesday) the apparent motion of the sun will continue to move to north direction, and it will be exactly vertical on Tropic of Cancer in Northern hemisphere (Summer Solstice day) on June 21, 2019, where it will be the longest day during the year. For more information, On Wednesday, March 20, the vernal equinox will occur over northern hemisphere countries, while on the same day the autumnal equinox will occur over southern hemisphere countries.

Finally, the length of the winter season this year was 88 days, while the length of the spring season this year will be 93 days.
