Summer working hours in open sites commences today

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs had announced the beginning of the implementation of working hours during the summer time, limiting the number of hours performed under the heat of the sun will commence from June 1 to September 15.

On its social media account, the ministry has reminded of the Ministerial decision No. (17) for the year 2021 that stipulates limiting working hours, and not allowing to work in open sites from 10am until 3:30pm.

This decision was approved and announced by the Cabinet following its meeting on May 21.

The ultimate aim of this decision to approve is to prevent the workers from the dangers of the heat stress.

The Ministry also stressed that the employer must set a schedule for determining the daily working hours in line with the provisions of this decision, and place this schedule in a visible place to make it easy for all the employees to be aware of their working schedule, and labour inspectors will observe it upon their inspection visits.
