Table Tennis Champions Continue Their Dominance in WTT Star Contender

The WTT Star Contender table tennis competition saw a host of the game's stars continue winning in Doha.

The competition, which concludes next Saturday, saw 219 players participates amidst strict precautionary measures through the implementation of a bubble to contain the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

World no. 12 Dimitrij Ovtcharov reached the round of last 16, after defeating world no. 50 Ahmed Salah 3-0. Meanwhile world no. 20 Quadri Aruna defeated Japan's Morizono Masataka 3-1 to reach the same round.

 

In related news, President of the Qatar and Arab Table Tennis Federations Khalil Al Mohannadi, who is also the Deputy President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), welcomed today attendees of the ITTF ranking officials meeting that took place in Doha on the sidelines of the WTT Star Contender competition.
