Talented Arab artist display amazing range of artworks at virtual exhibition

Curated by popular Qatari artist Hanadi Al Darwish - it is the 11th virtual exhibition presented by Katara, as part of its continuous initiatives to contribute and revitalize the visual art movement in Qatar during especially during pandemic times.
 
Eleven talented Arab artists have displayed a whole artistic range of artworks at “Directions”, a virtual exhibition launched recently by the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara in co-operation with Dar Hessa. 
 
 
The exhibition features works by Hanadi Al Darwish (Qatar), Samir Ben Gouia (Tunisia), Amna Al Nasiri (Yemen), Mohammed Al Ameri (Jordan), Moosa Omar (Oman), Raouf Rifai (Lebanon), Rashid Diab (Sudan), Thuraya Al Baqsami (Kuwait), Omar Alshahabi (Iraq), Bashar Alhroub (Palestine) and Abdellah El Haitout (Morocco).
 
It is the 11th virtual exhibition presented by Katara, as part of its continuous initiatives to contribute and revitalize the visual art movement in Qatar. DIRECTIONS and other virtual expos help in promoting the creativity of local and international visual artists in the context of pandemic and preventing its spread in the region and beyond. 
 
Speaking exclusively to QATARDAY.com Hanadi Al Darwish who is also the curator of the virtual expo said, “Due to these pandemic times, talented artists cannot come together and physically hold an exhibition of their craft and this is what lead me organize a Virtual Exhibition, thanks to the co-operation and support extended by the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara and Dar Hessa.” 
 
Al Darwish cleverly blends calligraphy into a rainbow of colours merging into lively and awesome compositions that strikes the naked eye with a multi-dimensional visual effect. She is a popular and well respected artist who over the years has held several important positions within the art community and has organized and participated in various art exhibitions and forums. 
 
In a recent successful venture Al Darwish through her company Dar Hessa and in cooperation with Qatar Charity held a charity auction of works by local artists to render assistance to low-income families deeply affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
