Team Qatar won the Gold Medal of the 4-stars FIVB Cancun Hub - 3rd event in Mexico on Sunday.

Qatar's beach volleyball pair Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan won the Gold after defeating the Russian duo Konstantin Semenov and Ilya Leshukov (21-15) and (21-21).

Team Qatar won two silvers in the FIVB Cancun Hub - 1st event and 2nd event, achieving a leap in the global rankings. The team now rank in the tenth place with 5080 points, according to the classification updated on April 27 by the gam's international federation (FIVB).

Team Qatar also rank in the ninth place in the classification of the teams that will qualify directly for the next Olympic Games in Japan, after achieving 7000 points.

Thanks to their remarkable achievements in recent years, Qatar's national team has become one of the best teams in the world, and had previously participated in the Olympic Games held in Brazil (Rio 2016).
