Measure taken to avoid potential crowding and maintain adequate physical distance among students.

A senior official of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) told Qatar Television yesterday evening that there will be a technical team in each school to regulate and monitor the entry and exit of students in order to avoid any potential crowding and maintain adequate physical distance among them during these procedures.

Mohamed al-Bishri, adviser to HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Director of Public Relations at MoEHE remarked that the education plan for the new academic year was drawn up based on co-operation and daily communication with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

which gives advice based on its daily assessment of Covid-19 infection rate in the country.

The MoEHE recently decided to amend the back-to-school plan announced earlier and implement a blended learning system during the first term of the 2020/2021 school year across all educational stages including government and private schools, higher education institutes and kindergartens.

Accordingly, the number of students allowed to attend classes in a school should not exceed 30% of the school’s total capacity at any given time. Each school is committed to allow the attendance of a maximum of 15 students in a classroom, providing at least 1.5 meters distance between each student.

The awareness campaign in this regard is aimed at teachers, technical staff and students in addition to all others workers in schools.

The first three days of school reopening, from September 1-3, will be dedicated to raising the students’ awareness on Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures and the need to follow them strictly – with no teaching taking place during this period.

The educational and awareness campaign will help students learn about keeping a safe distance from others and the proper ways of eating, cleaning and sanitisation.
