Ten food outlets shutdown during Ramadan inspection

The Health Control Department at the Municipal Supervision Department of Doha Municipality undertook 1,433 daily inspections on food establishments in many places of Doha region and the Industrial Area since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
 
On Monday a statement made by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said that 65 notices for violations were issued while 10 food outlets were shut-down due to various violations.
 
 
The department is at present implementing many checks and inspections on all outlets and shops packing and selling sweets and nuts for Garangao celebrations. 
 
The main aim is to make sure the validity of the food products used, storage and display conditions, and their conformity meets the standard specifications. The inspections resulted in seizing 5kg of sweets that were expired and was immediately destroyed and then a report was issued against the violator for having them in store even after the due date.
