The Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting at the Amiri Diwan

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired Wednesday the cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan.
 
 
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the following statement:
 
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed on the latest developments to contain the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and affirmed the continuation of implementing the precautionary measures in order to combat this pandemic.
 
After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
 
First, Take the necessary measures to issue a draft law regarding endowment, after the Cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council in this regard.
 
 
The draft law is being prepared to replace Law No. 8 of 1996 on endowment, and comes in the framework of updating legislation to keep pace with developments in this regard.
 
The draft law includes provisions relating to the establishment of the endowment, its distributions and conditions, the civil endowment, and the supervision of the endowment, its maintenance, architecture and investment.
 
Second, take the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of the companies law No. 11 of 2015, after the Cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council in this regard.
 
Third, the Approval of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's proposal to form a committee to prepare for the State of Qatar's participation in the Osaka Expo (Japan - 2025).
 
Fourth, the Cabinet reviewed the results of the 107th session of Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, and took the appropriate decision in this regard. (QNA)
