The Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired Wednesday via videoconference the Cabinet's regular meeting.

Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the following statement:

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation provided by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and affirmed the continuation of implementing the precautionary measures in order to combat this pandemic, and decided the following:

1- Stop the provision of medical services in private health facilities, except for emergency cases, and allow any of these private health facilities to provide some of their medical services if possible through modern means of communication.

2- This decision is effective from Friday, April 2, 2021.

After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First:

- The Approval of a draft Amiri decision to establish Qatar Tourism.

The preparation of the draft resolution comes to replace the Amiri Decree No. 74 of 2018 establishing the National Council for Tourism.

Qatar Tourism aims to regulate, develop and invest in the tourism and hospitality industry, demonstrate the civilizational, cultural, artistic, and tourism features of the state, and cooperate with all activities, services, and entities operating in the tourism sector within the state.

Second:

- The Approval of the Cabinet's draft decision to reconstitute the Lawyers Admission Committee.

 

Third:

- Approving the draft decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications to establish sections in the administrative units at the General Authority for Civil Aviation, and to define their functions.

Fourth: Approval of:

1- A draft agreement between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh regarding the elimination of double taxation in relation to income taxes, prevention of evasion and tax avoidance.

2- A draft memorandum of understanding regarding conducting political consultations on issues of common interest between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Republic of Rwanda.

3- A draft memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation between Qatar Petroleum in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Energy in Ukraine.

Fifth:

- The Cabinet reviewed the results of the extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Health Ministers in the GCC states and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
