DFI’s Ajyal Film Festival 2020
The eight edition of Ajyal Film Festival - flagship of Doha Film Institute (DFI) is set to take place from November 18 to 23 in a new hybrid format.
DFI has started accepting juror applications from Qatar and beyond for this year’s popular annual children’s festival.
The last date for applications is until October 31.
Short film competition by Sundance TV
SundanceTV has announced its first-ever Shorts competition in the Middle East and North Africa region, following last year’s successful South Africa edition. This year’s winning entrant and three runners-up will have their films broadcast on SundanceTV later in the year.
Participants must provide proof of residence in the MENA. Films should be no longer than 15 minutes and submissions to the 2020 SundanceTV Shorts competition can be made here -

Qatar Museums exhibitions
As per previous weeks, Qatar Museums (QM) major exhibitions at the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) continues.
Visitors are required to reserve tickets in advance on the QM website. During the visit they must present a “green” health status on the Ehteraz virus-tracing app and wear face masks for the duration of their visit.
Picasso exhibition at Fire Station
The exhibition features 108 extraordinary artworks by Pablo Picasso selected from the unparalleled collection of the Musée national Picasso in Paris, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and ceramics.
The museums, galleries and heritage sites are open between the hours of 9am to 3pm. According to the current situation, visitors are required to reserve tickets in advance on the QM website. Those of 12 years of age and older are required to wear masks, present a “green” health status on the Ehteraz virus tracing app and are checked for normal temperature at the entrance.

Qatar museums are now open to limited public and tickets have to be purchased in advance on the QM website.
