The third lunar eclipse of this year will occur on the morning of Sunday, July 5, 2020; where its greatest time will occur with the time of full moon phase of Hijric month "Dhul-Qa’da 1441 H," Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced.
The coming lunar eclipse will be Penumbral lunar eclipse type; where about 35.5% of the full moon will inside Earth's penumbra area during the peak of the Penumbral eclipse. Moreover, the total duration of the Penumbral lunar eclipse's phases will be 2 hours, and 45 minutes. Astronomer expert at QCH Dr. Beshir Marzouk said.
The penumbral lunar eclipse will be visible from Africa, North America, South America, and South-east Europe. Moreover, Qatar residents cannot see the coming Penumbral lunar eclipse; because it will be occurring during day time. Added, Qatar sky witness two lunar eclipses this year during January and June 2020.
Dr. Beshir Marzouk added. The Penumbral lunar eclipse will start at 6:07 Am Doha local time, while the peak of lunar eclipse will occur at 7:31 Am, and the penumbral phase will end at 8:52 Am Doha local time.
Solar and lunar eclipses are important phenomena because they are validated astronomical calculations; where the solar eclipses happen before the first of Hijric months (before new crescent), while lunar eclipse happens at the middle of Hijric months (at full moon phase).
For more information, there are three types of lunar eclipse: total, partial, and penumbral, moreover, during lunar eclipses you can look to the Moon with the naked eye, while during solar eclipses you cannot looking to the sun by the naked eye, but must using eclipse's glass or filters.
