Three new parks to open in Doha in 2021

Work is preogressing on the Al Gharrafa, Umm Al Saneem AND Rawdat Al Khail Parks

Doha will have three new parks by the end of 2021, according to the Public Works Authority (Ashgal) website.

The work on the three sites began in November 2019 with the aime of  providing more leisure and exercise space, as well as adding greenery to the city.

Rawdat Al Khail Park, also known as Al Muntazah Park, covers 140,000 sq m and is on the C-ring Road. There will be 1,250 trees as well as walking and cycllng paths.

 

Umm Al Saneem Park will be 130,000 sq m and is on Hayr Al Zahra Street and Waab Lebarg Street. There will also by walking a bicycle lanes.

Al Gharfafa Park, on Umm Al Zuber Street in Al Gharrafa, is smaller at 50,000 sq m but also has plenty of trees and places to cycle and walk.

All of the parks will have sports equipment and play areas for children of all ages and will be built with environmental standards in mind. Qatari Ghaff, Samar and Sidra trees will be planted, to controlling the effects of winds and dust and to reduce temperature and air pollution in the city.
