Traffic department seizes around 350 Vehicles for Traffic Violations

As part of the traffic inspection campaign to restrict violations throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the General Directorate of Traffic announced that they have seized around 350 vehicles for having found guilty of various violations in the country. The main aim of traffic inspection campaign is to decrease the accidents caused due to traffic and wrong traffic behaviours, in addition to reinforcing the safety requirements of the roads to save lives and property in Qatar.
Assistant Head of the Investigation Department Captain Mohammed Safar Al Kuwari said that the General Directorate of Traffic has annually conducted this campaign during Ramadan to reduce the most common and dangerous violations of road users, stating that the campaign will go on until the end of Ramadan.
Al Kuwari highlighted that the traffic campaign targets all areas in the region, as the military and civilian patrols continues to take part in this campaign, explaining that the Traffic Department will not tolerate the perpetrators of these violations that endanger the lives of the drivers and all road users in the country. 
He also mentioned that the traffic patrols are making efforts in ensuring that the road users apply all precautionary measures approved by the relevant officials and government in the country to restrict the further spread of Covid-19, adding that the most common violations that have been seized are for the following: reckless driving, excessive speed, car races, complete concealment, sound, and other violations, concluding that the Department has transferred drivers of violating vehicles to the designated authorities so that legal actions may be imposed against them.
The Assistant Head of the Investigation Department also emphasised that the Department is working around the clock to receive complaints and reports from the citizens and residents in Qatar, urging every individual to immediately report any wrong traffic behaviour.
The General Directorate of Traffic urged all motorists and road users to follow the traffic law, and to be very careful, especially in residential areas, and to keep steer away from wrong traffic behaviours that will give a negative impact on the public, which may threaten the safety of all individuals in Qatar
