FIFA has been working with all Concacaf member associations, with the support of the confederation, to provide guidance ahead of the upcoming qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

30 member associations are scheduled to compete for the Qualification Round 1 in the Concacaf region as the matches will be played between 24 and 31 March.

Numerous virtual workshops that included all the member associations were conducted recently by FIFA to make sure that everyone is aware of the regulations regarding coronavirus, especially regarding player release and the possibility of playing matches in a neutral venue should it be required due to quarantine restrictions in certain countries.

As the whole world is amidst unprecedented and unparalleled times, FIFA regulations are permitting the member associations to request an official match played in a neutral venue, given the situation it lies within the applicable confederation and meets their criteria accordingly.

FIFA has asserted that it will constantly work with all their member associations, along with the support of Concacaf, to ensure that the health, wellbeing and safety of the teams, individual players, match officials, other staffs, and all stakeholders as they are considered to be given the most priority during these official matches.
