Vaccines Now have a 12-Month Validity Period for Obtaining a Quarantine Exemption

The Ministry of Public Health stated in Qatar's new travel and return policy that people who have been vaccinated with a Qatar-approved vaccination will be exempt from quarantine for 12 months, beginning 14 days after receiving the required number of doses. The validity had previously been set at nine months.

Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford-Astrazeneca/Covishield, Janssen/Johnson&Johnson, and Sinopharm are the five vaccines that Qatar has approved thus far. The J&J vaccination is a one-shot vaccine, while the others require two doses. Sinopharm has only conditional approval, which implies that travelers who have been properly vaccinated with it will be subjected to an antibody test when they arrive.

They are exempt from quarantine if the result is positive for antibodies. If not, the visitor will be subjected to the appropriate quarantine based on the country of departure.
