Qatar Meteorology Warns Thundery Rain and Strong Wind Today

Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced today, March 28, that there will be thundery rain and strong wind at some areas in the country.

"Rain forecast during coming hours until tomorrow (Sunday), according to latest updates from Qatar's numerical weather prediction model."

The Civil Aviation Authority furthered that this change of climate is expected at times inshore, and strong wind, high sea and thundery rains are felt at some places offshore.

To ensure the public's safety, weather officials advised everyone to avoid all marine activities, as high waves up to 7 ft. with Southeasterly winds reaches 25 KT have been observed in Qatar.

This morning, QMD partly cloudy to cloudy skies over country with rain of variable intensity that was thundery at times in some locations. It reiterated that it is unsafe for sea riders to hit the outdoor waters.
