WhatsApp Might Soon Make It Easier For iOS Users To Listen To Audio Messages
WhatsApp, a popular instant messaging platform, is always releasing new and exciting features. And now it has come to light WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to change the playback speed of voice messages at their convenience. The feature is currently in beta is being developed for iOS users currently and they’ll be able to speed up their voice notes. The feature will be released with WhatsApp version 2.21.60.11.
 
The feature was spotted by WABetaInfo and will have a total of three-speed levels - 1x, 1.5x and 2x. So, depending on your preference, you’ll be able to play the audio messages at any one of these speeds. This is great for times when you receive an audio message from a friend or a person who usually talks slowly and you want to speed it up.
 
In another WhatsApp related news, the Indian government recently asked the instant messaging firm Whatsapp to review its controversial and proposed privacy policy changes. As per the report, Sanjay Dhotre, Minister of State for IT and Communications informed the Lok Sabha that "Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) took cognizance of the WhatsApp announcement of its new Privacy Policy stated to be applicable to Indian users.
 
To safeguard the interest of Indian users, Meity has asked WhatsApp to review the proposed privacy policy changes and also to explain the rationale of the same”. Also, the Centre has urged the Delhi High Court to stop WhatsApp from implementing its privacy policy that will come into effect from May 15, 2021.
