MoPH: 474 new Covid-19 cases in Qatar as of March 7

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reports today that there are 474 new Covid-19 cases in the country. 301 people have been completely recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of recovered people in Qatar up to 156,001. 
Among the new 474 cases, 419 are community cases and 55 cases are people travelling from abroad. As of now, 262 people have succumbed to the virus in Qatar.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 166,949 and there are 10,686 active cases under treatment.
 
There were 5,431 people tested for Covid-19 for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,037 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,578,949 tests.
There are 74 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 653.
13 were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours, and so 111 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.
What can be done to avoid contracting the virus?
 
With the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Maintaining social distancing
 
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
 
- Using and wearing the face masks at all times.
 
- Washing and sanitising hands regularly.
 
Anyone suffering from COVID-19 symptoms should contact 16000 helpline immediately. This is important as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
