MOPH announced 2 deaths and 194 Covid-19 cases on June 2, 2021

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) yesterday reported that there are 194 new cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 389 individuals have so far recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 214,020. Among the new 194 Covid-19 cases, 125 have been infected from the community and 68 came in contact with the virus while traveling from abroad.
MOPH also reported two deaths aged 46 and 51 years old in the country yesterday, as the total death toll stays at 562. Four individuals were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the last 24 hours, and therefore, 119 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU. Nine individuals were hospitalised due to Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, which takes the overall number of patients in the hospital currently to 199.
The total number of current active cases in Qatar is 3,300 and the overall number of Covid-19 cases reported in Qatar so far is 217,882.
3,976 individuals were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours, and a total of 15,374 tests were done during the past 24 hours. The total tests done so far is 2,032,185 tests. 25,652 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours. The overall number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 2,600,344.
What you can do to avoid contacting the virus:
As the cases of Covid-19 rapidly increases in the State of Qatar, it is significant for all individual to contribute their effective part in curbing the virus by adhering to the mandatory preventive measures imposed by the government:
• Maintaining safe and social distances in the public arenas.
• Must avoid close contact with others individual who are in crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
• Wearing a face mask at all times.
• Washing and sanitising hands at regular intervals.
Any individual suffering from COVID-19 symptoms must immediately contact the helpline number 16000. This is vital as the earlier the disease is detected the easier it will be to receive the right treatment and recover from it.
