MoPH: Over 500 new Covid-19 cases in Qatar on March 20

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported that there are 509 new cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and 328 people have recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 160,115.
Among the 509 new Covid-19 cases, 420 are community cases and 89 have contracted the virus from travellers returning from abroad.
A 56-year-old patient succumbed to the virus, which takes the total death toll in Qatar due to Covid-19 to 272.
There are 182 cases of individuals who were admitted in hospital during the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 1055.
 
18 people were admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) in the last 24 hours, and therefore 159 people constantly receives medical aid in the ICU.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in the region is 173,206 and there are 12,819 active cases under treatment.
14,480 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours.
The total number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 579,338.
5,385 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,344 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,660,175 tests.
 
 
Precautionary measures you can take
 
With the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country, it is vital for every individual to play their role in combating the deadly disease by adhering to the following precautionary measures:
-Maintaining Social distances.
- Avoiding close contact with others, crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a proper face mask at all times.
- Washing and sanitising hands regularly.
Anyone suffering from COVID-19 symptoms should contact 16000 helpline immediately. This is significant as the earlier the disease is detected, easier it will be to receive the right treatment and will be able to recover from it.
