Dr Soha Al Bayat, Head of Vaccination at Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), has confirmed that vaccination against Covid-19 is not required when the country achieves the target percentage of people receiving the vaccine. Those unvaccinated individuals will have the same privileges to enjoy the freedom and other facilities in country just like the vaccinated people.

Dr Al Bayat said: “When we reach the sufficient percentage of the people receiving the vaccine, then those who did not receive the vaccine will enjoy the same privileges as that of the fully-vaccinated people. But the difference is that they will be late (in enjoying the privileges) until the percentage is reached.”

She mentioned that those individuals who have recovered from the virus infection can get a certificate from the Ministry of Public Health’s website and enjoy the same privileges as the vaccinated.

Dr Al Bayat highlighted that the chance of the further spread of Covid-19 will be less if more people are vaccinated in Qatar. The more people get vaccinated in the country, the less cases occurs.

She added that those people who are exempted from taking the vaccination dose against Covid-19 will not reach one percent, and it is significant for those who have confirmed sensitivity to one of the components of the vaccine or who have had a reaction that led to their admission to hospital due to taking the vaccine.
