The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported that there are 118 new cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and 203 individuals have so far recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 219,478. Among the new 118 Covid-19 cases, 68 have been infected from the community and 50 contacted the virus while traveling from abroad.

MOPH reported no deaths in the country today, as the total death toll due to the deadly virus stays at 588. Two persons were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the last 24 hours, and therefore 53 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU. Nine individuals were hospitalised due to Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and the overall number of patients in the hospital currently is 99. The total number of current active cases in Qatar is 1,744 and the total number of Covid positive cases recorded so far in Qatar is 221,810.

5,246 tests were done for the first time in the last 24 hours and a total of 19,583 tests were done during the past 24 hours and the total tests done so far is 2,155,430 tests. 33,714 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered during the past 24 hours. The overall number of vaccine doses administered since the start of the vaccination campaign is 3,075,375. 

What you can do to avoid contacting the virus:

As the cases of Covid-19 rapidly increases in the State of Qatar, it is significant for all individual to contribute their effective part in curbing the virus by adhering to the mandatory preventive measures imposed by the government:

• Maintaining safe and social distances in the public arenas.

• Must avoid close contact with others individual who are in crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

• Wearing a face mask at all times.

• Washing and sanitising hands at regular intervals.
