Royal Tandoor

 Thought by many as the most authentic Indian food in the whole of Qatar, its easy to see why the Royal Tandoor is popular. The décor of the restaurant is quaint and intimate if not a little dated, but there’s something here that seems to work and dare I say– adds to the charm of this little place. One thing that makes Royal Tandoor unique and ‘quirky’ are the private booths surrounding the restaurant. When we visited they ushered us to a private booth, gave us the menus and promptly closed the curtains! The food is delicious, and there's a good selection of curries and grills on the menu. The restaurant gets its name from the way in which most of their dishes are prepared– in a traditional clay oven, known as a ‘tandoor’. The service isn't the best we’ve experienced, but it’s far from the worst. It’s clearly a well loved local place, but the thing we loved about it is how authentic our whole experience was– good value for money and definitely worth a visit. NB- Parking is VERY limited.
